Religion Based Politics..Do we need it???

I have always been a bit interested in politics probably its there in the gene…first of all I hate hearing when some people say I don’t follow politics as its not gonna change any nasty thing out there or who take pride in saying I don’t vote…that said I am also not biased too and I believe all I have is an open mind to criticize and analyze any political parties policies and ideals…probably thats wat influenced me to contribute both in money and deeds to my own limits when the new political party “paritrana” came and said something different…. for nothing can be changed without experimentation….

I have been reading about BJP and some of their claims about saving Hindutva and the Hindu culture…the Hindutva card they play and the claim they make of saving Hinduism from extinction seems to be the most ridiculous argument someone can make…anyone who knows our history knows that we have been ruled by the Moguls and the British….its a norm anywhere in the world as far as I know the belief of the ruling class will sweep its subjects to follow the same…but still Thomas Firedman writes in his book “The World is Flat” a book recently which i became a big fan of – The Indian culture and Hindu religion is very tolerant…even after india was ruled by moguls and Britishers they still eat curry and the indian women still wear sari…nobody told us that..in contrast I see in some other cultures which were totally wiped by the western influence like Latin American countries who lost their language and identity…I think our ancestors have shown great maturity and open mindedness to a lot of external influences and still were able to know what they have to imbibe into the indian cultue and what to leave untouched….it was choice made by will and not by force which has its own sanctity…there was news about the Bajrang Dal activists beating up young couples and disrupting valentines day celebrations vandalising gift shops and burning cards…if a section of the youth takes pleasure in expressing their love on valentines day with cards and gifts now, whats wrong in that….we never had to do any of these to preserve our culture down the ages….we are at danger from people who feign themselves as preservators of something which is a variable and actually is wrong if stayed a constant... assume we dint change and still had sati and child marriages(which we still have)…is that good for us??a society and its culture is something which is bound to change over time whether it is for the good or bad and no one can stop it...the best attitude to show would be to change along with it or show an open mind to its changes….

The latest news was of an asian dad who shot his teen daughter in canada because she was not following their culture and was into partying…can you agree with this?? Parents came down to the west, they made their choice for luxury and money and decided to stay back…that done they also decide for their kid they are gonna give her a different enviroment but still she has to preserve the alien oriental culture to which she was never exposed to…the idea of trying to preserve something like culture for which the situation is no longer conducive can be catastrophic...the ideal solution for the family would have been to have an open conversation with the daughter about their culture, the benefits of following it after which following it would have been her option..…when you are in an advancing society as in the case of India you tend to analyze and differentiate things and you want to know why you have to follow it…

All we need is a politics free from religion and the casteism….it is so stupid to go by caste and religion to vote, which is only gonna risk our future and survival as remember we are secular and we gotta live with a lot of other religions and caste people….and for BJP to survive it needs to shed its saffron attitude…
